Photo Tag!

I've been tagged by Patsy at Musings on a 100 lbs+ Weight Loss Journey.

Here are the rules of photo tag:

1. Go to your first photo file and pick the 10th photo in it.
2. Tell the story behind the photo.
3. Tag 5 other people to do likewise.

This is a photo of one of Yoko Ono's notorious art projects, the Wish Tree. It was taken in November 2008 in one of the trendy plazas I stumbled upon while wandering around the streets of L.A. Twenty-one myrtle trees were filled with white tags on which people had written their fondest wishes. Outdoor tables held baskets of blank tags and pencils, so without hesitation, I sat down and wrote my own wish.

There were tags with wishes for all sorts of things, as you can imagine. Wishes for good luck, love, better health, success, money, to be thin - all the things one would expect. So what did I wish for? A peaceful world where people loved one another. I'm still waiting for my wish to come true...

Here are the people I am tagging:

1. Sarina T. at (238) and Shrinking
3. Debi at Second Journey
5. Amber Jade at Amber is Losing

Well, that's the story and now would you add your wish to my Wish Tree?

Great idea! My wish would be that all children are raised with love, nurturing, and support, instead of fear, hurt, and misconceptions of themselves!

What a fantastic idea. I love your wish and would have to agree with it 100%.

A wish tree! Beautiful concept. I would wish for exactly what Jules wished for. What could be more ideal than that?

Love the wish tree...my wish would be like Jules too... children come into this world so innocent..and life and sometimes parents/people alter them. I wish that there be no illness, no premature death,or suffering. I wish only love and nurturing parents and caretakers...I wish there innocence stay with them forever.

I wish that the new generation will put more effort in their schooling and less time out on the streets.

Money.

Yes. I wish for enough money to pay for private therapy for my daughter, money for research on a cure for her, money for a mother's helper or nanny to pick up the slack from me doing therapy, money for preschool for my son because I've been caring for his sister. To make her environment accessible. Money.

And some cute shoes.

Great photo and a wonderful story. I'd hope that wish would be something we would all desperately want. What a pity it isn't a reality yet... :o(

I love your idea and my wish would be that people would be kind to animals and treat them better..

That's such a cool picture. I love it!

Since the other wishes are for children and animals, all great wishes. I can use my wish for us all to a healthy weight. All of us. :)

Hi Ellen,

Great photo. If we all wished Jules' wish and it came true... I think we could end up with world peace! How about that?

I'm just blown away by the wish tree! And, ditto the other gals, and add this one: I wish I could get everything done in a day that I set out to do instead of always going to bed with the sinking feeling that I've done too little, too late.

What a great idea and I think the wish tree is way cool. My wish? "that little children would not suffer illness." Feels good to put it out there... like a prayer.

What a great concept.

Take care,
Paula
